ATROCITIES OF SIYAD BARE REGIME

From 1981 to May 1988 a harrowing well –planned campaign to eliminate an entire people become, succession of human rights abuse .murder ,detentions ,torture, unfair trails ,confiscation of the land other properties
Constrains of freedom of the movement and expression, a strategy of humiliation directly at family life ,at women and elders ,the denial of the equal opportunities ,discriminatory business practices and curfews and checkpoints become daily affaire. Both urban centers and rural communities were targeted ,but it was nomadic population ,who suffered the most ,their men and boys were gunned down ,their women were raped ,their water reservoirs destroyed . and people as well as livestock were blown up by landmines ,and up to day those planted landmines continue to take more lives ,many whom I know lost their loves ones in that war .in the late may 1988,the SNM attacked the towns of Hargiesa and Burco.
it was the star of the savage of war against ISAQ civilians which drove most of them in to exile in the inhospitable desert of Ethiopia ,instead of engaging the SNM military ,the government used the full range of its military hardware against unarmed and defenseless civilians ,thinking perhaps that the SNM would be too preoccupied with chaos of mass civilians causalities to fight back The assaults knew no bounds ‘residential homes were bombed .fleeing refugees were strafed by planes and men, women and children perished by thousands
Some of us cry stead of tears blood, some of us sacrifices everything so they live one day just one day, as free men, and I think any appreciation world towards those men and women can never enough, compare to the huge sacrifices they made for their country. I still remember to story of one lady who was lackey to enough scape from being massacred, when she saw a young girl stands beside the road shouting for the pain ,repeating the same words over and over again ,words that I thought even the rock
